We couldn't help but wonder, is there a future for Carrie and Aidan?
After season one of And Just Like That saw Sarah Jessica Parker's character work through her grief of losing her husband Big (Chris Noth), season two of the Sex and the City sequel series is bringing the columnist's former fiancé Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) back into her life.
So what does Sarah think about Carrie and Aidan possibly rekindling their romance all these years later?
"My feeling about those two is, of course, they've matured," the 58-year-old exclusively told E! News. "They've had a lot of life experiences. They've made some really big choices in their life." (For more with SJP, check out E! News tonight, June 21 at 11 p.m.)
And from the sound of it, Carrie and Aidan are ready to let bygones be bygones. "No matter their shortcomings in the past," the Hocus Pocus alum continued, "no matter the ways in which they're disappointed one another, there was inarguably an enormous amount of love and respect for one another."
"I think they have a huge amount to explore," Sarah added with a coy smile, "It's a rich relationship, and it was awfully fun to be with him again on set."
And Just Like That confirmed John Corbett's return to the franchise last fall, while filming season two. As for the former couple's ultimate fate? Viewers will have to tune into season two and see for themselves. However showrunner Michael Patrick King did give a hint.
In conversation with The New York Times on June 20, he said, "I didn't bring Aidan back to fail."
And John isn't the only SATC alum to join for season two! Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones on the HBO series, confirmed she was making a cameo on And Just Like That on Instagram June 1. However, according to Variety, she'll appear in a single scene and didn't film with any of her former cast mates.
And don't forget to check out E! News tonight, June 21 at 11 p.m. for even more on And Just Like That! Season two of the SATC continuation premieres June 22 on Max.
