Suntegrity Skincare has voluntarily recalled several lots of sunscreen after the Food and Drug Administration identified "a higher than acceptable microbiological mold count" in some tubes.
The FDA posted a recall announcement on June 12 warning customers, retailers, and distributors to stop using certain lots of Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation. The agency said some tubes of Lot 115BU were contaminated with aspergillus sydowii, which can trigger an eye infection, allergic skin reaction, or a primary fungal skin infection if used on sunburned skin or open injuries.
The mold developed "post-release and over time in a recent test," the FDA said. In light of this, the company also recalled eight other lots despite the tests coming back clean. There have been no adverse event reports.

Which lots of sunscreen were recalled?
Recalled lots, along with expiration dates and UPC codes, are displayed below. According to the FDA, the lot number could be located at the top in the back of the orange tube where the 2oz product was sealed.
The FDA did not provide additional information about recalled lot 115BU.
How to get a refund
The recalled products were sold online and in stores.
If the product was purchased online, customers are advised to email the company to receive a refund, store credit, or item exchange. If bought in-store, customers can contact Suntegrity for an exchange or store credit from the retailer.
